Cluj Medical University

Medicine:

• The university offers 6-Year Undergraduate Medicine course.
• Students graduate the course with an internationally-recognised Medical Doctor (MD) degree
• The programme is structured with an innovative loop system. There are four loops in total and each loop builds on previous one and sets more complex learning objectives.
• Students gain hands-on experience in the New Vision Hospital, which is owned and run by the university itself.

Dentistry:

• The dentistry course at New Vision University lasts for five years.
• The programme aims to give students a strong understanding of all pre- and post-clinical procedures relating to dentistry.
• The course initially focuses on pre-clinical study through which students can learn dentistry fundamentals. In later years, the curriculum shifts focus to clinical training.
• Newly qualified dentists can find employment in Georgia or practice in countries across the world such as the USA, the UK, Canada, or Australia.
• Students have the option of studying online for up to the first two years of the 5-Year Dentistry course. This is a temporary study option for students due to Covid-19.

Medicine:

• Candidates who already have a Bachelor’s (BSc) degree are eligible for the 4-Year Graduate Entry programme for medicine.
• The 4-Year Graduate Entry programme allows students to begin their studies in the third year of a six-year medicine course without taking entrance exams. This greatly accelerates the process of obtaining a medical degree.
• To apply, candidates are required to provide analytical transcripts of previously completed courses in addition to the usual admission documents (see below for these).
• Graduate entry is a great option for candidates who want to continue their education or progress their career.
• The Study Medicine Europe (SME) Transcript Evaluation Team is authorised to assess graduate programme applications including evaluating academic transcripts and Bachelor’s Degree records; all details are at the tab below: Graduate Entry Assessment Process.

Dentistry:

• New Vision University also offers a 4-Year Graduate Entry Dentistry programme for candidates who already have a Bachelor’s (BSc) degree.
• Through Graduate Entry, students can commence their studies in the second year of a five-year course without taking entrance exams.
• To apply, eligible candidates must submit analytical transcripts of previously completed courses as well as the usual admission documents.
• Graduate entry is a great option for candidates who want to save costs and accelerate the process of becoming a dentist.
• The Study Medicine Europe (SME) Transcript Evaluation Team is authorised to assess and evaluate applications for the graduate programme (such as academic transcripts and Bachelor’s Degree paperwork); please refer to the tab Graduate Entry Assessment Process for all details.

• Study Medicine Europe (SME) offers NVU students the option to undertake clinical rotation opportunities abroad in the USA, Canada, Ireland, the UK, and Australia.
• These rotations can be for a duration of up to three years with SME matching students to hospitals and medical facilities in alignment with their NVU modules.
• Students apply to SME with the following documentation:
  • Their CV and preferences for the rotations (the location, the facility, the department and the desired length of placement).
  • Official authorisation of their application by the NVU professor coordinating their medicine programme.
• SME can only offer a limited number of placements due to spaces available and correctly aligning the student’s modules therefore applications are processed and offers are made in order of submission.
• Studying abroad is an invaluable experience for medical students to expand their skills, learn in dynamic environments, and build their international network.

Applicants must provide the following information:

• An application which includes the following details: bio, education history and course for which you are applying.
• A copy of your secondary education results with subjects studied.
• Documents from your home country confirming that you are authorised to study in Georgia.
• Two small photos of 4-5cm.
• All documents need to be translated into Georgian to satisfy state directives.

• Cluj is the fourth most populous city in Romania and is one of the most important academic, cultural, industrial and business centres in Romania.
• Cluj-Napoca has a diverse and growing cultural scene, with cultural life exhibited in a number of fields, including the visual arts, performing arts and nightlife. It also has a vast number of landmark buildings and monuments. One of those is the Saint Michael’s Church in Unirii Square, built at the end of the 14th century in the Gothic style of that period. It was only in the 19th century that the Neo-Gothic tower of the church was erected; it remains the tallest church tower in Romania to this day.
• A highlight of the city is the botanical garden, situated in the vicinity of the centre. Beside this garden, Cluj-Napoca is also home to some large parks, the most notable being the Central Park with the Chios Casino and a large statuary ensemble.
• The Cluj-Napoca International Airport (CLJ), located 9 kilometres (5.6 mi) to the east of the city centre, is the second busiest airport in Romania and handles several flights to and from several countries in Europe on daily. The city also has great road and rail systems facilitating transportation throughout the city.
• The city is also very famous for its sports. Cluj Arena, is the largest stadium in Cluj-Napoca (capacity 30,201), and is ranked as an UEFA Elite stadium. Several facilities for sports like rugby, football, handball, and water polo are also available throughout the city. Cluj-Napoca held the titles of European Youth Capital in 2015 and European City of Sport in 2018.

• Romania is a country in the Southeast of Europe with an estimated population of 19 million. Bucharest, the capital city, has a population of around 1.7 million.
• After WWII Romania was under communist control until 1989, when it declared itself a free democracy, and began to rebuild its economy.
• Romania is now a very modern country and has a similar standard of living to other EU member states.
• Romania has a very low cost of living, making its famous universities an appealing destination for students from all around Europe and the rest of the world.
• Romanian universities are among the best in Europe and thousands of international students pursue their studies there every year.
• Modern Romania is a wonderful mix of cultures where people from all over the world are welcomed warmly by the locals.
